Greetings Members!
It has been brought to our attention that some of our members have recieved messages from someone claiming to be " a Freecycle Staff member". This email states that the recipient is the winner of a monthly drawing. It goes on to say that the message recipient must indentify their account in order to claim their prize. These messages are not from Freecycle. They are phishing attempts that have been sent to Freecycle members all over the globe as an attempt to gain access to member's accounts. Freecycle does NOT have contest and will NEVER ask for your credentials. We ask that should you receive one of these messages. That you do not respond to them and contact your town moderator.
Rest assured that Freecycle is in the process of setting up new filters that should prevent these types of messages from going out.
